This year SSQ has chosen to support Streetkids, a children’s charity headquartered in Frankfurt. Streetkids seeks to improve the living conditions of disadvantaged children in Tanzania and currently cares for 17 children in two orphanages in Dar es Salaam. Additionally every month several hundred mothers and their children receive medical treatment at their medical camps.

Streetkids has recently bought some property in Tanzania from donations and is seeking to develop it. One of the most urgent needs was a reliable water supply involving the installation of a pump, piping, generator and water tanks. SSQ has supported this project with an initial donation of Euros 20,000. In April 2008 the SSQ Community team (Diana Luczak, Till Schöppe and Nicola Morris) flew to Tanzania to visit and work on the project.
